Mugwumpin
(Collective)
Mugwumpin is an award-winning San Francisco theater and performance company, part of a wave of young American companies who are expanding the artform by questioning the primacy of text and narrative in theater and playfully transgressing received notions of the audience-performer relationship.
Natalie Greene (she/her/hers) is a multidisciplinary performing artist who has been working in the Bay Area since 2003, and has served as Mugwumpin’s Artistic Director since 2016. Her choreography and intimacy work have appeared at the Aurora Theater, Alcatraz Island, Danspace (NYC), DiMenna Center (NYC), as well as in schools, senior centers, and non-traditional performance locations throughout the Bay Area. She has been on faculty at University of San Francisco, San Francisco State University, ODC School, and is currently School Programs Manager at the American Conservatory Theater.
Michelle Talgarow (she/her/hers) is a Kalmyk/Filipina theatre maker in the Bay Area for over 25 years. She is a proud member of Mugwumpin, a performance collective in San Francisco. She is also a member of the artistic company of Shotgun Players (Berkeley) where she co-coordinates The Champagne Staged Reading Series. She recently became a member of the all AAPI theatre collective Ferocious Lotus. Michelle is currently an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco.
