(She/Her)

Alessandra Gómez is an assistant curator at The Shed and an independent scholar working at the intersection of visual arts and performance. She received an MA from Columbia University’s Modern and Contemporary Art: Critical and Curatorial Studies program, where she organized the Wallach Art Gallery’s inaugural performance program called "Into Darkness" (2019) as part of a curatorial fellowship with commissions by Trajal Harrell, Dean Moss, and Eiko Otake & DonChristian Jones.

Her independent curatorial projects include "As If You Me" (2017) and "Ember Ground" (2018) at the Center for Performance Research and "Material Witness Witness Material" at Knockdown Center (2018). At The Shed, she works closely with artists across all disciplines to develop new work. She is part of the editorial collective, Women & Performance: a journal of feminist theory.
